The New Microsoft Surface Duo - What's it all about?

Microsoft is going to release an android phone which is in partnership with Google.

The design? Two screens which are foldable. Similar in design to the Samsung Galaxy fold but also not that similar.

Something to note is that Microsoft has a windows phone, but the Surface Duo is an Android phone. Microsoft has apparently given up on using the Windows OS for their phones and now is leaning towards Android.

The look of it makes me think of a tiny tablet or tiny laptop. The Surface Duo has two 5.6-inch displays that fold out into an 8.3-inch screen, and it’s 4.8mm thin. You can fold it fully over like many 2-in-1 laptops because of the 360-degree hinge.

The Samsung Galaxy Fold has a vulnerable plastic screen and folds down to a 4.6-inch outer screen, and folds out out to become a 7.3-inch mini-tablet display. You would have thought that this device would have sold out instantly, but it's twice the price of today's best smartphones, and has a problem with regards to durability.

At $2000, are you going to take a chance to buy this only to have it break in your hands or worse, your picture appears distorted and you end up looking like the demon child in the movie Omen. Your choice. I would wait for the Surface Duo if I were you.

Interestingly enough, the Surface Duo doesn't seem to sport a rear camera but has a front camera. I don't find that appealing, especially for people who like taking pictures and videos on their phones, this could be a nuisance for them. You can never have too many ugly selfies? Wrong, you can.

I guess we'll just have to wait until the actual launch, set for 2020, when they reveal all the core features of what this phone is capable of. Till then, you can take all the ugly selfies you want with your phone of current choice. Enjoy!
